Intentional Living

Intentional living

means paying attention to being who you want to be in this world.

A lot of the time we are governed by our thinking mind – by the “thought chatter” that consumes most of our attention day in day out.

When you believe your thoughts to be accurate and important you spend a lot of time feeling stressed, powerless and tired. That’s not marking you as a useless person – that’s just how the human mind functions right now – mostly.

So living intentionally means moving away from being governed by our thinking at all times. It entails paying attention to the things that are really important to us, the values we want to live and advocate for.

Intentional Living is a practice.

The practice of paying attention.

You inhabit an inner world and an outer world.

What you believe in your inner world reflects in your outer world.

Therefor intentional living requires a listening to self. Who am I believing myself to be?

This orange path is created very intentionally – it fashions just such a light, such a curve; it is using these specific materials, colors, tools, symbols. Everything has its place, its own special meaning. Such attention to detail creates beauty and harmony.

It is the same in your life, at your work.

Paying attention to detail, slowing down to bringing intent into each moment can harmonize your world beyond what you could imagine.

Being intentional  is easier with more self knowledge.

Self knowledge comes from observing your thoughts, emotions and motivations for action.

When you use a process like The Work it comes in a package – observe, inquire, learn and transform. It’s simple and powerful.

It’s brilliant.

The more I use my intent the more productive and focused I am.

In the morning, I make a list:

Today I will:

This creates focus.

Then I head the first writing task with what I want as outcome – this writing is helpful, inspiring…..

Then I start to work.

When I work at the Veterinary Clinic I start the day with inquiry.

Being clear allows compassion and joy to govern my day.
